El Cambridge United dominó la primera parte gracias al gol de Wharton Scott en el minuto 35. Yendo a la cabeza 1-0 en el descanso, los jugadores del Cambridge United ampliaron su ventaja en la segunda parte con un gol de Berry Luke de penalti en el último minuto del tiempo reglamentario.
